OPD provides health promotion, diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients who need hospital services without the need to be admitted and include references made by outside doctors, patients coming on their own, references from pri­vate clinics for investigations etc.
	The out patient department services also attempt to reach the door step of patients through peripheral health services provided by department of Preventive & Social Medicine in the hospital's catchment areas.
